Pros:
Cypress Mountain is beautiful and a great place to ski.
Cons:
They did not set up the magic carpet so the kids have to walk up the hill they ski down.

This is the year we're teaching our 5 year old how to ski. We went back to where our older child was taught and were greatly disappointed. The learning area hill was smaller, the magic carpet was not set up and there was no other way to get up the small hill. Instructors were all over the place, not one was really assigned to your child and if they were I couldn't tell. The kids spent all their time and energy trying to get up the hill. The instructors looked frustrated and needed to help the majority of first time skiiers get up the hill. When I asked whether this was the way Cypress Mountain would be teaching kids this season I was told yes and that they would not be bringing out the magic carpet to help the children get up.
This was a dramatic change from the last time we used the Kids Ski Camp. Our older child had wonderful instruction, and learned the basic "pizza" and "french fries" moves quickly because the majority of time they would be going down the hill rather than trying to get up. This made the move from the magic carpet to the chair easy for our child by the third lesson and she walked away feeling very confident about her ability to ski the easy runs.
I would not recommend anyone learning to ski without a way to get up the hill as it just becomes frustrating for the beginner. I would try the instructors at Cypress Mountain again as I think they weren't able to instruct properly under the current condition.
